Jack Bartley has been a teacher most of his life. After eighteen years of teaching high school biology, and documenting the whimsical policies of public education in a long series of columns for The Newark Post, Jack departed (to protect what little sanity he had left) for the greener pastures of teaching biology and ecology at his alma mater, the University of Delaware.

When not teaching, writing, or finding excuses to visit Hawaii, Jack plays guitar in the folk music band “So’s Your Mom.” He also raises orchids, and enjoys skiing and playing volleyball.

Jack lives with his wife Susan, their two sons Colin and Aidan, a dog, assorted cats and a variety of other animals in New London, Pennsylvania.
